John,

About darn time you made it on the board!    ;D

For those who don't know, John has been my 65 GS mentor.  It all started about 5 years ago after I bought my first 65 Skylark Convertible and wanted more performance.  I found a 65 GS convertible in NJ and didn't know anything about them.  I searched the internet and found John's email address and asked him all the typical questions about if she was real or not.

To say the least I bought the car and still have it and John has become a very close friend in the process.  I've been lucky enough to have gone to 3 GS National events with John and have picked up many 65 buddies along the way.

With all that said.. WELCOME ABOARD BUDDY and I'm sure it'll feel like home to you around here.

Chris

Guys,

It's allways fun to give someone help. I'm glad to be back with my Buick friends ,after a  long hiatus.

So now on with building the next one, or two , or three.

Still a lot of dream projects

Loren

Chris, thanks for the welcome.  Becoming one of your good friends has been a rewarding experience for me and Karen.  It's great to talk with someone who has both youth and passion for the '65 GSs.  Also thanks for the "late night computer help line".

Sorry, this has nothing to do with the tilt steering wheels thread.

John

Your a very bad influence, but I don't think Melissa minds that much. She got a kick out of driving that car before we tore it down.  ;D

Back to tilt steering...

Guys..CAN I JUMP IN here?  I know I'm a NEWBIE to this forum, but NO WAY a Newbie to Buicks!  I purchased a 65 GS vert 8 years ago...CONVERTIBLE. Loaded. Like Power bucket seats. Power windows. TILT.  Factory A/C. Posi. BUT WAIT..THATS NOT ALL!!!  This car WAS/IS a 4 speed too!  The original consolette with tach was in the trunk along with other non important stuff like 4 speed bellhousing. A box of linkages/Z- bars and old rusty shifter. I havent performed ANY research as of yet, because I am still completing some 70 GS projects and just cant find the time, YET.   BUT SOON.  Ya see, it "appears" to be an original 4 speed car, hole in the floor and all...but this car was found with a transplanted 300 auto that was obviously just plopped in and never hooked up...The seller told me he and his son ruined the original 401 and bought a 4 door just for the engine, back in 82. Nevertheless, this car is loaded including a TILT...Hopefully I will find the build sheet when the resto begins to take away all doubt!  65 GS Convertible, TILT, A/C, power everything and 4 SPEED... gotta love it!  Wheelz, Tampa Bay

Hey Wheelz.. great to see you around here.   ;D

Could you post a picture of your firewall tag?

With all those options, I'd love to see if any new codes pop up that we've not recorded yet.

Attaching a picture is really easy here, just use the Additional Options link beneath the area where you type in your messages (replies) and browse your drive for the picture.  Once you've clicked on it, just finish posting your message and it should be there.

If you need to resize your picture, check out the Announcements section for the Free picture resizer program.

Hope to keep seeing your around here.. we all know you're a 65 guy at your core!    ;D

I hope this works. The ad states that a tilt wheel was offered on a 4-speed chevelle so I can't imagine it not being offered on the Gran Sport.        Tom
