Windshield Washer Bottle
« on: January 27, 2010, 10:17:46 AM »
Guys - I need to replace the windshield washer bottle on my GS, the original is yellow and cracked.  I heard somewhere (can't remember, might have been another forum) that the Cutlass / 442 bottle is the same as the GS bottle.  Is this true?  I found this reproduction part at OPGI, and it looks similar.  Wondering if this would work, and if not, where else I could go to get one.  I did an ebay search and couldn't find anything.  I've also looked at a couple of swap meets, no luck there either.

http://www.opgi.com/product.asp?catmainid=3&topcatid=177&chapterid=177&GrpCode=2401&ProdCode=CT20305&yearrange=

By the way, I really appreciate this forum, the other Buick forums are just so large that I get lost in the hundreds of posts that occur every day.  This one is very focused and the people very helpful.

Thanks in advance,

Keith

Yes, the same bottle.  Also try Fusik Oldsmobile, a great resource for Olds aftermarket/repro parts.

Year One also has them if you strike out at any of the places already mentioned.

Keith,

I noticed that the photo of the washer bottle did not have the cap. Year one does have them also at $79.95, with a cap. However, OPGI has a much better price. I would not be surprised if the same manufacturer supplies them to both OPGI and Year One.

  BM3405  Washer jar for 1964-1965 models. $79.95

Thanks for the research, appreciate it.  I was on the Fusik website earlier today, and they were selling the bottle, with cap and mounting bolts, for $38.  Add in shipping and handling, and I'm at $51.  Probably will order it tomorrow.

It's guys like yourself make this a great place to hang out.   :occasion14:

There was an older thread on the site about the washer bottle that I figured you'd want to read up on.

Got the replacement washer bottle yesterday from Fusik.  Exact replacement, as you guys told me.  And, quality of the part is very good.  Thanks all for the reference to Fusik.
