Two inch drop

Is anyone on the board running a 2" front spindle drop on their cars?

I'm thinking of converting my convertible over to disc brakes in the Spring and the kits come with standard and 2" drops.

I'd like to see a picture of a A body with the two inch drop to get an idea of how low it sits and try to figure out if I'm going to have any tire clearance issues with my new wheels.

What is everyones feelings on doing the full four wheel disc coversion vs. just doing the fronts?

I know that a couple of you have recently done a conversion (Joe comes to mind) and do you have any advice (do's and don't) and vendor recommendations?

My car did not have power brakes (another one of those Buick ordering oddities) so that will be something that I'll make sure to add to the kit / project.

Yes I did my 65 Skylark with Discs but it wasn't an aftermarket kit. I use a GM part. Used old and dirty but cleaned em up and used them. I do have 65 Impala Big Block A/C springs in this one. I cut 3/4's of a coil of either side. I also have headers that have not bottomed out. And the car sits perfect. It has the original rear springs but with Air Bags.

Now my 65 GS Resto has the aftermarket kit from 60 to 0(an ebay guy) but I don't have 2 in drop spindles.

Your car sits very nice Joe.. I've decided to stick with stock and go with the full kit as my car also needs to be upgraded to power brakes and it seems easiest to just do this all at once with one of the master kits.

The big decision now is which kit to go with and wether or not to do the rears at the same time I do the fronts.

Chris, I used the kit from The Parts Place in Chicago for my disc brake conversion. They also sell a quicker steering box which is worthwhile also. Converts from 4 turns to 3 turns (lock-to-lock that is).

Was that a full four wheel conversion you done on your car or just the fronts?

Did you also upgrade to power brakes (I seem to think your car didn't have them either originally).

Just did the fronts. I had power brakes but upgraded to a nice shiny new vacuum booster and dual master cylinder.
Very happy with the results.

Used stock spindles, 1" drop with Hoskitch springs all the way around.  4 wheel disc conversion, 15x 7 in the front, 15 x 8 in the rear.  Car rides and handles great.  Added rear 1" bar and changed the steering box.

I cannot tell a lie, I changed the color to 2009 Chevy Torch Red, base coat, clear coat. It just made it stand out, you cannot miss this car in a crowd.
