Early Buick Transmissions?
« on: September 10, 2009, 08:17:37 AM »
I just picked up an engine and 2 transmissions. The engine appears to be a 1962 Buick 215/4 barrel (HI code). The attached transmission and the spare transmission are oddballs.

The attached transmission is a Dual Path air-cooled 2-speed. It is quite short and small, and has a small rectangular pan with a center bolt, no perimeter bolts.

The spare transmission is a Slim Jim Model 5.

This engine, and probably one of the transmissions, will be going in my Triumph TR7.

Do both these transmissions deserve bad reputations?

Any help will be appreciated!

Steve,

Get something more modern. If you want 215 info, check out:

I have a 63 4 bbl 215 on a stand in the garage. It was a manual trans (4 speed) but that trans was an oddball too.
