1965 Gran Sport Wagon
« on: June 21, 2009, 11:15:58 AM »
Saw this at the Back To The 50's car show in St. Paul, MN. The owner / builder said it took him six years to make it. The build quality was excellent. Only drawback was that it had a 3.8 liter supercharged V6 instead of the 401 nailhead.
Suggested he bring it to the GSCA show in Bowling Green next year.

VERY COOL!

I've often wondered if anyone has ever built a two door GS wagon and now I know there is at least one of them out there.

Imagine the work and detail that went into this car!

I only take points away for color as Bamboo Creme is not on of my favorite (Flame Red might have been better) but then again, this fellow likes things that are a little different and yellow always makes a car stand out of the crowd.

Dan, did you tell him about the site?  It would be neat to have him around and to answer some more questions about his car.

Thanks for sharing,

Chris

That is so Ubercool. :o If I would've seen that one cruising along I-94 or I-694 last weekend in the TC area, my rig would've definitely hit the rhubarb. I was through Mpls/St. Paul during that weekend. Saw plenty of 5-6-7 Chebbys,, lost of other cool rods, but only a few Buicks. :(

So, just saw it in the flesh [to use a phrase]. It was at the BCA nats in Colorado Springs.
It is definately a nice job. Got to talk to the owner and get some pics.

Loren, I actually live in Winnipeg, Canada, but drive through the Twin Cities quite often, since I drive for a living.

Tom, if you ever need a break if you're in the Lincoln area , look me up. This one is out of South Dakota.
Jon Thompson saw one at the BCA nats that were in Rochester, MN. I asked the Warren[ the wagon owner] , about that. He told me he had just got the car finished and was not at the Rochester show.
Are there two?
