Here's a photo of a factory original from my convertible that I'm curently restoring. It measures 3/4" in diameter.  Is your photo of a repro ferrule?

Off hand, I do not know of any repro ferrules for our '65s. I am sure that you have already checked the usual aftermarket suppliers. Good luck and let us know if you find a source.
